Thursday Twilight Tunes Celebrate its 22nd season in 2015 and starts April 23rd!

Denton Main Street Association presents its award-winning concert series in downtown Denton starting April 23rd this year.  The concert event sets the tone for fun downtown every Thursday beginning Thursday, April 23rd at 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. and will run every Thursday evening through July 2nd, with a bonus concert on Saturday, July 4th in the morning  immediately following the 4th of July parade through downtown Denton. 

Join the fun on Thursday evenings on the Denton County Courthouse-on-the-Square lawn, 110 W. Hickory Street from 6:30 to 8 p.m.  The concert is held on the Denton County Courthouse-on-the-Square lawn, alternating between the east and the west side during the season.  Admission is FREE.  (Please note, the July 4th concert is a mid-morning concert and not an evening concert).

Bring your friends and family, get a meal-to-go from one of the many downtown eateries, bring a blanket or chairs, and enjoy an evening of great live music as the sun sets over downtown Denton.  The 2015 series offers an eclectic assortment of music for all listeners.  Thursday Twilight Tunes is the perfect way to kick off the weekend early and listen to some of the best local bands in the Denton area. 

This is the 22nd season for this long-standing tradition in historic downtown Denton.  Below is the concert schedule, with April 23rd through July 2nd concerts set for 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.. *The July 4th  concert will follow the 4th of July Parade and begin approximately 10 a.m.. If you are coming from the southern part of Denton County, or even from within Denton, hop on the DCTA A-train at MedPark in Denton or any of the stops south of Denton in Lewisville and Carrollton. Relax and enjoy the ride to downtown Denton, hop off, take a stroll to the west up East Hickory Street to the Denton County Courthouse-on-the-Square.  Grab a bite or shop around downtown while you are there.  Check out the DCTA train schedule at
















Arts, Antiques & Autos Extravaganza

September 12, 2015


Denton Main Street Association hosted the 16th annual event on Saturday, September 12th in 2015, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. around the square and beyond, 110 W. Hickory Street. See information and ALL entry forms below.

This event features a hot rod, classic and custom car, truck and motorcycle with multiple car, truck and motorcycle classes and great trophies! Cash prizes for Best of Show winner in car, truck and motorcycle class.

Festival-goers enjoy an array of activities throughout the day, including arts/crafts vendors, hands-on arts/crafts and games, Chalk Fest, festival foods, live music and "Attic Treasure" appraisals. 

This year the Chalk Fest will bring some fantastic chalk drawings to add spark and life to the sidewalks downtown. Artists of all ages can contribute to a fantastic display to stroll through during the event and for days after the fun.  Look for artist entry and fee info coming soon! 

Antique appraisers provide information on family treasures and heirlooms.  Appraisers and dealers specialize in general antiques, art, jewelry and other areas. Stay tuned for more! 

Live Music takes place all day entertaining crowds on the courthouse lawn. And, festival foods and the great dining at downtown eateries abound at AAA!

Denton Main Street Association's 16th Annual Wassail Fest

What is Wassail? It is just a fussy old English word for hot cider. Downtown merchants will stir up their best recipe to give free tastings for all ages during the festivities of the annual Denton Holiday Lighthing Festival, which falls on Friday, Dec. 4, 2015 and the following day the tasting continues with more merchants who will have their tasting events on Saturday afternoon.  Check back for updates on this upcoming event this year.

Holiday Open House Weekend in Downtown Denton November

Holiday Open House weekend kicks off for some great shopping and strolling  the streets of the square and beyond to check out the specials in the stores and restaurants. Some merchants will have extended hours during the holiday season, so check with your favorites and see who is open late or on Sundays during December. Please check this website or Facebook for upcoming details as the event draws near.

First Friday Denton -

Galleries around West Oak Street and in downtown Denton every first Friday evening of the month host a free event featuring art, fun and music for the community to enjoy.  Visit to get details for each month.

Acoustic Lawn Jam on the Denton County Courthouse-on-the-Square Lawn - FREE

Year-round: Every Saturday 10 a.m. to Noon (weather permitting). 110 W. Hickory Street on the courthouse lawn. An open, acoustic jam session for all levels of musician. Come to listen or bring your guitar, drums, fiddle, spoons or your best singing voice to join the fun.

Denton Farmers’ Market

June – September: Tues., Th., & Sat.
Denton County growers sell fresh produce during the growing season in North Texas. June through September – Every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday 7 a.m. to 12 noon, or Sell-out. Bayless-Selby House Museum Parking Lot, corner of Mulberry Street and Carroll Blvd. Market sponsored by Denton Country Growers Association. Community Market

Local artists and crafters sell at this market every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in May through the first Saturday in December. Located at the Denton County Historical Park at the corner of Mulberry and Carroll Streets in downtown Denton. Visit for more details.
