Denton Main Street Association will host the 15th annual event on Saturday, September 13th in 2014, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. around the square and beyond, 110 W. Hickory Street. See links to forms for car, vendor and chalk fest entry below.
This event features a hot rod, classic and custom car, truck and motorcycle with multiple car, truck and motorcycle classes and great trophies! Cash prizes for Best of Show winner in car, truck and motorcycle class. Entry fee is $20 up to Sept. 5th; $25 Sept. 6th -13th. All participants MUST register before 9 a.m. on day of the show. A silent auction featuring great downtown merchandise and other finds is held inside the courthouse during the event with bidding starting at 9 a.m. and open until 2 p.m.
Antique appraisers will provide you information on family treasures tucked away in your attic, so start digging them out. Appraisers give informational appraisals for $5/item or 3 for $10. Look for a list of the types of items that can be appraised soon!
Chalk Fest is back!

Denton Main Street Association presents its award-winning concert series in downtown Denton starting at the end of April this year. The concert event sets the tone for fun downtown every Thursday beginning Thursday, April 24th at 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. and will run every Thursday evening through July 3rd, with a bonus concert on Friday, July 4th in the morning immediately following the 4th of July parade through downtown Denton.
Join the fun on Thursday evenings on the Denton County Courthouse-on-the-Square lawn, 110 W. Hickory Street from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The concert is held on the west side of the Denton County Courthouse-on-the-Square lawn in first half of the season, and in June it moves to the east side of the courthouse lawn. The 2014 series offers an eclectic assortment of music for all listeners. Thursday Twilight Tunes is the perfect way to kick off the weekend early and listen to some of the best local bands in the Denton area.
This is the 21st season for this long-standing tradition in historic downtown Denton. Twilight Tunes is just another reason to stay in town for summer fun. Holiday Open House Weekend in Downtown Denton is November 2014
Stroll the streets of the square and beyond while checking out the specials in the stores and restaurants. Enjoy refreshments while you shop, door prize drawings at various stores, and a chance to give back to the community throughout the weekend. Watch for special events and participating merchants to be posted as the event approaches.
What is Wassail? It is just a fussy Old English word for hot cider. Check out the delicious Wassail recipes at the more than 30 participating merchant locations around the historic downtown Denton Courthouse on the Square and beyond. Tasting begins at 5:30 p.m. and you can vote on your favorite! So, come sip and stroll through downtown. Wassail tasting is free and for all ages. Spring Open House TBA for 2015
Downtown Denton is hoppin’ during Spring Open House weekend with all the shopping and dining destinations there are to enjoy in downtown on the square and beyond.
The fun abounds around downtown on every Spring as the merchants of the Denton Main Street Association open their doors for a Spring Open House event. The weekend offers something special in downtown’s array of places for shopping, dining and entertainment all weekend, so check back to this website for next year's date to be posted in early 2015. Denton County growers sell fresh produce during the growing season in North Texas. June through September – Every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday 7 a.m. to 12 noon, or Sell-out.
